Kara Norris – Owner & Senior Instructor

Hello! My name is Kara Norris and I am the owner and founder of Naturally Norris Pilates. My Pilates journey began in 2006, whilst training full-time as a dancer, I sustained a significant injury to my pelvis and adductor muscle. After over 12 months of treatment and no improvement from the 24hr pain, I discovered Pilates and its rehabilitative qualities. Through Pilates I returned to full-time dance training and discovered it was invaluable cross-training as well!

After teaching dance and managing a dance school for several years, I became the Dance Co-ordinator for C3 College’s vocational dance course. During this time we implemented the use of Pilates as a cross training and injury prevention tool.

In 2015, I undertook formal training as a comprehensive Pilates Instructor and was invited to join the team at Leeon Studio Pilates. This training and on the job experience equipped me to achieve lasting results, with a vast array of clients from elite athletes & dancers to grandparents, from rehabilitating those with acute injuries to those simply after a good workout.

I moved to Wagga in 2017 & in 2018 Naturally Norris Pilates was born. Since then my passion for helping people restore their faith in their body has only increased (no matter where we are starting from). I have done further training in rehabilitation, Pregnancy and Postnatal, osteoporosis and am continuing to study the human body with a particular interest in how fascia (connective tissue) impacts our muscular skeletal system. 

 

Kieron Drever – Instructor

    Kieron grew up in the Blue Mountains before moving to Sydney to pursue a career in law enforcement. Kieron transferred to Wagga Wagga in 2015 where she has settled down with her fur baby, Roxy.

    After being injured at work, Kieron spent over 12 months trying different treatments and discovered Pilates when a friend suggested that she give it a try. Since starting Pilates (at Naturally Norris Pilates), her pain reduced to such an extent that she could go back to doing a lot of the things that her injury stopped her from doing.

    This inspired Kieron to train as a Comprehensive Pilates instructor and her own experience has given Kieron a particular passion for Pilates rehabilitation. She finds great satisfaction in the rehabilitation process and solving the puzzle of people’s bodies of helping people become pain free and begin to feel like themselves and trust in their body again

    Sandra Lee – Instructor

      Sandra is passionate about making people feel good. She has previously worked as a disability and aged care support worker and has a particular passion for these demographics.

      While working as a support worker, she recognised how practising Pilates (at Naturally Norris Pilates as a client), was benefiting her muscular strength, mobility and overall balance. She now enjoys being pain free and can’t stop praising the Pilates Method so much so she trained to be an instructor.

      Her goal is to support and motivate everyone to live life in their healthiest, happiest bodies. Sandra bring joy and laughter to all her sessions.

      Sandra is proudly part of the childless cat lady squad.

      Allison Durrant – Instructor

      Allison is a mother of 3 and also a grandmother of 3. Her love for pilates started 6 years ago when she had discomfort at the gym doing her regular overhead routine exercises. A friend suggested to her to try pilates to help her with flexibility and mobility of her shoulder. After all those years, Allison has found pilates to have helped to strengthen and increase mobility of her shoulder and surprisingly the rest of her body.  

      Now she loves pilates so much she has become an instructor, having qualified recently. Allison loves to challenge people and is great at nurturing people recovering from injuries. 

      Allison is teaching Group Reformer Classes, Group Mat classes, 4:1 Studio Sessions and Private Sessions. We feel very blessed to have her part of our team.

      Trish White – Studio Administrator

        We love Trish! This place does not run without her.

        Trish has a wealth of experience with over 17 years in administration and joined our team in 2022 – we have not looked back. Trish enjoys interacting with and taking care with our Tribe (clients and staff alike) and is extremely approachable, always going above and beyond. She will make you feel welcome and help you with any questions and all your appointment needs. 

        Trish has been a Wagga local for over 30 years and married for over 30 years with 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

        Kara and the team at Naturally Norris Pilates are total professionals at their game but more than that they genuinely care about you as an individual, your progress and your health journey. They encourage and support you each session through a variety of exercises. I don’t know how they do it but each session you will do something new or build onto an exercise you already know. If you are looking to start your Pilates journey then I highly recommend Naturally Norris Pilates.

        I have been attending reformer Pilates classes with Kara for around 6 years. Kara has supported me through post-partum recovery twice as well as one pregnancy. Her knowledge and attention to detail is second to none. My programs have always been individualised and focussed on my personal goals. There is always something new in my programs which I find impressive after attending for so long. I have recently added a group reformer class to my week and have noticed a huge improvement in my strength due to increasing to two classes weekly. Pilates is my favourite time of the week!

        Naturally Norris is a place of hope. Two years ago, I limped into this light, airy, tasfully decorated establishment. From that moment, I was met with respect and encouragement. So to date, I am able to walk easier, I feel strength and stability returning , at 63, that certainly gives one hope.         I've been going to Naturally Norris Pilates for years now! It is absolutely the best pilates studio with so much variety in equipment and such a pretty and warm atmosphere. Kara's experience and expertise is unmatched and it shows clearly through her client outcomes. I particularly love the variability of exercises, every time I go I do something new and different and each session is always so specific to my unique needs. I had major post natal pelvic floor issues which have improved significantly just from ongoing pilates. My weekly sessions keep me strong and flexible, it's exactly what I need to keep my body on track. Love this place, love my pilates!

        I cannot recommend Naturally Norris Pilates enough. I have been there for over 2 years now and it has become a home. I’ve done postnatal, mat Pilates, reformer and now pregnancy Pilates. I cannot speak highly enough of the skills and knowledge of Kara and her team. Always personalising and providing modifications where needed, addressing any issues or concerns with our bodies. I have seen massive growth and progress in my body throughout these periods. My body is stronger than ever and I understand the connection with my body to ensure I’m working and engaging my muscles in the safest way possible. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Pilates.

        I have been active all of my life, having been a dancer, played sports, gym, yoga, walking, until I injured my knee. Pilates has allowed me to strengthen and rehabilitate my body, whilst still nurturing my injury. Kara, at Naturally Norris has guided and worked with me to reconnect with my body, rediscovering parts that have been neglected, especially my core and glutes. Kara not only has the knowledge and training in Pilates, but is very intuitive to personal needs, and responds to not only how your body is, but how you are mentally and emotionally. This enables you to engage with confidence at Naturally Norris, that you are being looked after and getting exactly what you need to grow and progress on your Pilates journey. I have felt my body change under Kara’s instruction, I feel stronger, more flexible, and excited to be able to perform movements that I never thought I would be able to do again! Pilates at Naturally Norris also helps release my aches and pains from my work as a massage therapist, enabling me to use the correct muscles for my work. Kara is meticulous about technique, so you can rest assured you are being cared for in a safe environment. There is also great music and lots of beautiful plants!

        Kara and the NNP team are awesome! The Pilates sessions are tailored to individual needs, abilities and goals. I was having pain most of the time, being cautious of movement and losing hope for future physical capacity. Pilates has strengthened, toned, realigned and improved so many aspects of my physical health, my muscles and my stamina. Pilates gives the results if you’re willing to put in the effort… and with Kara guiding, encouraging and cheering you on, you will be able to achieve your goals (slowly but surely).

They took the time to get to know the issues I was having, and developed programs to assist. Each session is personalised and adapted to my needs, helping me on my way to recovery.         Love, love, love Naturally Norris, Kara knows exactly what to do to help strengthen and relieve aches and pains. When I started 4:1 classes in May I was having trouble with my knees, no more! We are now working on my injured shoulder which is getting stronger each week. Work outs on the rest of my body are great too. Thanks Kara for your professionalism!

        I have been going to a 4:1 class once a week since Oct 2018. I have strength in my core that I’ve never had before and because Kara tailors the time for your specific body requirements, it has significantly improved previous niggly injuries that I’ve carried for a few years.         I highly recommend Naturally Norris Pilates, I do the 4:1 personalised program and absolutely love it! Kara creates an environment that feels just like home the moment you walk the through the door!! I am currently a university student but prioritise the cost of going to Naturally Norris Pilates because I am achieving results and improving my strength, flexibility and body alignment; this is because Kara pays attention to detail as I’m performing the movements and provides exercises that are specific to my body's areas of concern.
